Bubble Magic 3D: Frog Princess is simple to pick up. It is modeled the established bubble-shooting mechanics but changes the game rules slightly. You shoot bubbles to make a group of three or more same colored as always. But matched bubbles will break. You can only score points when you drop bubbles into the buckets at the bottom of the screen. So accuracy in shooting is required in the first step and strategy in dropping bubbles instead of merely matching them is as important to score high.

Depending on the theme of a land, levels have different backgrounds and multiplier items. When you play skillfully without missing any bubbles, multipliers will show up. They may be mushrooms, ice-creams, flasks and other cute stuff. And bubbles falling down and bouncing upon them can get a varying amount of score boosts. Moreover, there is another form of multiplier, the pot lid which can be unlocked and purchased to cover the two side low-score buckets for several rounds.

You pass a level when you score high enough to get at least one star. Via completion, you earn coins and sometimes a card by chance. If you want to stick to free-to-play, you need these cards. Six different cards make a collection that can be exchanged for keys. And specific keys are required to unlock new lands. Unavoidably, you have to re-play previous levels towards this goal.

Every time you enter a new land, you will see a new type of special bubble, helpful or hazardous, on the playfield. The coin bubble, once matched, give you extra gold reward; the eye bubble changes color randomly so that they should be matched in good turns; and the black mass bubble cannot be matched directly because they are heavy but have to be cut off to drop.

As usual, you have different booster items at disposal to pass tricky levels. There are power-ups ranging from the match-all rainbow bubble to the bomb that blasts away standard bubbles around it. Besides, you can unlock various Amulets that work in other way towards your benefits. The Smart Path shows clearly the projectile of a bubble, while the Third Bubble allows you to switch freely among three balls instead of two. These boosters cost a big bag of coins. Bubble Magic 3D gives you free trials of each item. If you love how they work, you have to pay for more.

Bubble Magic 3D: Frog Princess has a Heart system that constrains the game pace. You have three hearts in default. But you have the option of expand the maximum to five or even to unlimited play at the price of Rubies, the premium currency. As all free-to-play titles, the game offers in-app purchase, the money-bought path towards a more satisfactory gaming experience.
